Bluecrew Driver Safety Acknowledgement

Acceptance of Bluecrew’s Driver Safety Acknowledgement is required to become eligible for driver jobs. If you do not agree to abide by these policies and safety rules and do not want to proceed with consideration for driver assignments, then stop here and do not complete the  Clean Motor Vehicle Record assessment.

Bluecrew has created these policies and safety rules to ensure that Crew understand the requirements, policies and work rules for safety-sensitive, driver jobs. All Crew who want to work as a driver must read and  sign-off on these important policies and safety rules which apply whether operating a Client-assigned vehicle or your own vehicle. Crew will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination, for violations of any of our employment policies and safety rules.

Driver Policy Requirements:

  • All Bluecrew drivers must be 21 years and older, and have a non-expired driver's license through the job end date; meet our motor vehicle record and drug screening standards, and proof of personal auto insurance. You consent and authorize Bluecrew and its Clients to perform additional motor vehicle record and drug and alcohol screening at any time during employment.
  • Drivers are required to immediately report all traffic citations, accidents, police reports, vehicle impounds (and when towed), and license restrictions, expirations or suspensions within 24 hours. If there is a change in license status, including a renewal, a copy must be provided to Bluecrew.
  • Drivers must be physically and mentally able to drive safely. Crew are prohibited from using or possessing drugs or alcohol while on-the-job, or using before work when it would impair their ability to safely perform work. Drivers should also report if co-workers are observed to be in violation of these policies, including driving while under the influence.
  • Drivers are expected to operate vehicles in strict compliance with motor vehicle laws of the jurisdiction in which they are driven. Head lights shall be used 2 hours before sunset and until 2 hours after sunrise, or during inclement weather or at anytime when a distance of 500 feet ahead of the vehicle cannot be clearly seen. Seat belts must be worn whenever a vehicle is in motion.
  • Using mobile phones (including texting), and other devices while driving operating a vehicle is prohibited.
  • Using an assigned vehicle for excursions for personal errands, pick-ups, and appointments is strictly prohibited. Drivers may not allow hitchhikers and non-business passengers (i.e., family and friends) in the vehicle. Only Client authorized passengers, such as Client Supervisors, etc., are allowed to ride within the vehicle. No other passengers are permitted for any reason

Client Fleet Vehicles: Whether leased, owned or rented by our Client or customers, if you are assigned to drive a vehicle in order to perform your job assignment duties, you must be qualified and authorized by Bluecrew. Drivers are responsible for the care and security of vehicles and cargo during shifts. The vehicle engine must be shut off, ignition keys removed, and vehicle doors locked whenever the vehicle is left unattended.

Inspection of All Vehicles: Every shift you work, inspect vehicles prior to use to ensure that they are in safe operating condition, and again upon your return. Also inspect the outside and inside of the vehicle, and any cargo for noticeable damage. Report all mechanical problems and damages to the Supervisor, and include photographs.

Cleanliness of Client-Assigned Vehicle: You are responsible for the maintenance and care of any vehicle you are assigned. The inside of the vehicle must be clean for the next shift, and all trash properly disposed. Give any items left in the van from the previous shift to a supervisor. No smoking while operating vehicles (you are permitted short rest breaks to smoke). Confirm with Clients whether food and drink is allowed in the vehicle — but never eat and drive at same time.

Vehicle Breakdown or Driver Impairment: If vehicle breaks down or driver becomes impaired and can’t drive safely, pull over into a safe parking area and immediately contact the Supervisor for instructions. If the vehicle is towed or impounded, make sure to provide the information for retrieving the vehicle and its cargo. If Crew is removed from a vehicle by police or medical personnel, request that the authorities contact Client and/or Bluecrew as your employer within 4 hours, for your follow-up care and as well as the security of vehicles and cargo.

Accidents: All accidents must be reported to the Client and BlueCrew as soon as possible, but no more than 4 hours after the accident. Follow the reporting procedures provided to you from the Client. Be prepared to provide copies of police reports, citations, photos, witness statements and recordings for insurance claim purposes. We do not terminate employees who have been involved in an accident, unless they do not report an accident, or were at fault for an accident resulting in damages and personal injury. All Crew injuries must be reported immediately by calling AKOS (833-222-7080).

Assigned Client Property: All Client-provided property, including: vehicles, gps device, dash cam, mobile phone, charger, gas card, PPE, uniform, keys, tools, etc. must be returned at the end of each shift. All cargo must be secured and all doors should be locked, both when the vehicle is en route and when it is parked. Report any missing or broken property to the Supervisor. Do not attempt to fix any property owned by the Client or their

Customers, unless authorized by owner. You are responsible for assigned property, and thus, you will be held responsible if lost, intentionally damaged, or not returned to the Client.

Communication with Supervisor: Clear and consistent communication with your Supervisors is a job requirement. Always make sure communication devices are charged and are on during shifts. Failure to communicate as instructed (i.e. delivery route markers), or unresponsiveness to calls or messages from the Client or Bluecrew during your shifts, will end your assignment, and your employment with Bluecrew.

Surveillance At Work: Bluecrew and our Clients will use surveillance methods and information to monitor, observe, record, track, report, and audit on Crew actions at work (which includes while in workplace premises, work vehicles, parking lots, en route and any other place while performing work). Types of surveillance include: cameras that monitor or record visual images of worker activities; computer software that monitors or records the information input or output, or other use of a computer (including but not limited to the sending and receipt of e-

mails and the accessing of Internet websites); and tracking by means of an electronic device the primary purpose of which is to monitor or record geographical location or movement (such as GPS tracing device). Bluecrew will comply with the legal requirements of applicable federal and state laws.

Driver Disqualification: Crew will be disqualified from future driving assignments for any of the following:

  •  Driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance, or finding alcoholic beverages, (or emptied bottles), illicit substances, and/or paraphernalia in the vehicle.
  •  Any criminal conviction with a motor vehicle (e.g., a felony, hit and run, negligent homicide).
  •  At-fault auto accident, careless or reckless driving, road rage or racing whether observed, video recorded, or cited by authority and/or reported injury to persons or property with a vehicle.
  •  Refusing to take a drug or breathalyzer test when requested.

Employee Acknowledgement: Checking the box on the Clean Motor Vehicle Record flow is your digital signature and acknowledgment of receipt and understanding of Bluecrew’s Driver Safety policies and rules, including the following:

  • You understand and agree to abide by all employment policies, including safety rules.
  • You agree to obey all laws, rules, regulations, and company policies applicable to driving jobs.

  • You understand that any damages to a personal, leased or borrowed vehicle for which you choose to use for work purposes will fall under your auto insurance policy coverage.
  • You will immediately notify BlueCrew if your driver’s license status changes and/or if there is a lapse of coverage in your auto insurance policy.
