Acceptance of Bluecrew’s Driver Safety Acknowledgement is required to become eligible for driver jobs. If you do not agree to abide by these policies and safety rules and do not want to proceed with consideration for driver assignments, then stop here and do not complete the Clean Motor Vehicle Record assessment.
Bluecrew has created these policies and safety rules to ensure that Crew understand the requirements, policies and work rules for safety-sensitive, driver jobs. All Crew who want to work as a driver must read and sign-off on these important policies and safety rules which apply whether operating a Client-assigned vehicle or your own vehicle. Crew will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination, for violations of any of our employment policies and safety rules.
Driver Policy Requirements:
Client Fleet Vehicles: Whether leased, owned or rented by our Client or customers, if you are assigned to drive a vehicle in order to perform your job assignment duties, you must be qualified and authorized by Bluecrew. Drivers are responsible for the care and security of vehicles and cargo during shifts. The vehicle engine must be shut off, ignition keys removed, and vehicle doors locked whenever the vehicle is left unattended.
Inspection of All Vehicles: Every shift you work, inspect vehicles prior to use to ensure that they are in safe operating condition, and again upon your return. Also inspect the outside and inside of the vehicle, and any cargo for noticeable damage. Report all mechanical problems and damages to the Supervisor, and include photographs.
Cleanliness of Client-Assigned Vehicle: You are responsible for the maintenance and care of any vehicle you are assigned. The inside of the vehicle must be clean for the next shift, and all trash properly disposed. Give any items left in the van from the previous shift to a supervisor. No smoking while operating vehicles (you are permitted short rest breaks to smoke). Confirm with Clients whether food and drink is allowed in the vehicle — but never eat and drive at same time.
Vehicle Breakdown or Driver Impairment: If vehicle breaks down or driver becomes impaired and can’t drive safely, pull over into a safe parking area and immediately contact the Supervisor for instructions. If the vehicle is towed or impounded, make sure to provide the information for retrieving the vehicle and its cargo. If Crew is removed from a vehicle by police or medical personnel, request that the authorities contact Client and/or Bluecrew as your employer within 4 hours, for your follow-up care and as well as the security of vehicles and cargo.
Accidents: All accidents must be reported to the Client and BlueCrew as soon as possible, but no more than 4 hours after the accident. Follow the reporting procedures provided to you from the Client. Be prepared to provide copies of police reports, citations, photos, witness statements and recordings for insurance claim purposes. We do not terminate employees who have been involved in an accident, unless they do not report an accident, or were at fault for an accident resulting in damages and personal injury. All Crew injuries must be reported immediately by calling AKOS (833-222-7080).
Assigned Client Property: All Client-provided property, including: vehicles, gps device, dash cam, mobile phone, charger, gas card, PPE, uniform, keys, tools, etc. must be returned at the end of each shift. All cargo must be secured and all doors should be locked, both when the vehicle is en route and when it is parked. Report any missing or broken property to the Supervisor. Do not attempt to fix any property owned by the Client or their
Customers, unless authorized by owner. You are responsible for assigned property, and thus, you will be held responsible if lost, intentionally damaged, or not returned to the Client.
Communication with Supervisor: Clear and consistent communication with your Supervisors is a job requirement. Always make sure communication devices are charged and are on during shifts. Failure to communicate as instructed (i.e. delivery route markers), or unresponsiveness to calls or messages from the Client or Bluecrew during your shifts, will end your assignment, and your employment with Bluecrew.
Surveillance At Work: Bluecrew and our Clients will use surveillance methods and information to monitor, observe, record, track, report, and audit on Crew actions at work (which includes while in workplace premises, work vehicles, parking lots, en route and any other place while performing work). Types of surveillance include: cameras that monitor or record visual images of worker activities; computer software that monitors or records the information input or output, or other use of a computer (including but not limited to the sending and receipt of e-
mails and the accessing of Internet websites); and tracking by means of an electronic device the primary purpose of which is to monitor or record geographical location or movement (such as GPS tracing device). Bluecrew will comply with the legal requirements of applicable federal and state laws.
Driver Disqualification: Crew will be disqualified from future driving assignments for any of the following:
