Responsibilities
- Process and input prescriptions in pharmacy software
- Work with insurance companies on prescription claims and/or issues
- Interact with patient inquiries on prescription claims, status of order, shipping location
- Maintaining a positive, empathetic and professional attitude toward customers at all times
- Interact with various other partners to help troubleshoot orders
- Process large volume of data entry, ensuring accuracy to eliminate dispensing mistakes
- Courteously respond to telephone calls from customers/insurance/patients etc, routing them, if needed, to the appropriate department
- Maintains current knowledge of insurance claim regulations and processes, rejections
- Responsible for research, follow up, troubleshooting, as pertaining to prescription/patient data entry discrepancies, insurance rejections
- Contribute/create training guides on packaging/data entry workflows
- Works with the pharmacy technicians and pharmacists to understand pharmacy flow process in order to expedite prescription orders, assisting with any additional tasks
- Proactively finding solutions when challenges arise that address patients' needs and that take into account pharmacy operational demands
- Handles basic maintenance of warehouse and provide cleaning support to pharmacy
- Perform other tasks as assigned, which can include assisting in any area of the pharmacy/warehouse as directed by management which may include helping out if necessary for filling/production/counting
- Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure smooth workflow in all departments, ability to work in other teams such as warehouse to provide support
Qualifications
- Previous mail order or retail pharmacy experience highly preferred
- Communicate effectively with coworkers, patients, and customers is important
- Possess phone etiquette skills in order to provide excellent customer service
- Knowledge in pharmacy software, insurance billing is a plus
- Ability to work flexible hours based on business needs, weekends included
- Be extremely detail oriented, accuracy is essential
- Develop and maintain relationships with our partners as well as internal team
- Must be able to work effectively under the direction of licensed pharmacists in a high volume pharmacy
- Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time
- May be required to lift packages weight up to 40lbs or more
- Ability to take on tasks and deliver results 100% of the time with minimal supervision
