Bluecrew is hiring Material Handling Equipment Operators (MHEs) for positions at a local logistics company. At Bluecrew we hire you on as a W-2 employee which gives you the flexibility to try different companies and shifts. It’s a perfect fit for energetic wage-earners who love variety and learning new skills. For this role you do need 1-2 years of MHE experience using forklifts and other equipment that requires certification.
Role descriptions: The Material Handling Equipment Operator is responsible for using a forklift, clamp truck, or other power equipment to load, unload, move, stack, stage and count pallets and materials. Please know OSHA, MSDS, and PPE best practices as you will be seen as an example and a leader for less experienced workers.
Responsibilities:
- Independently operate a seated, stand-up, or cherry picker-type lift, depending on the position based on best safety practices and supervisor direction
- Operating machinery or other light equipment as trained in a safe and responsible manner
- Loading and unloading inventory in a safe and responsible manner
- Comply with OSHA and MSDS standards and company safety procedures using Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) always while performing job duties.
- Working on your feet at a quick pace for the entirety of the shift
- Comfortable in a an environment where there are forklifts, machinery, large trucks, and other equipment in the warehouse
- Follow the required dress code, including close toed shoes and long pants
